i suppose itsd difficult to objectify career satisfaction objectively, whereas atleast the monetary
rewards are more easily quantifiable. so it is true then that 7 figures are possible for surgeons as
per your calculations. nice. 

money aside, the surgeon made the point that in his career there is always scope for lerning new
procedures and getting better at your craft with time, which anaesthetics as a career somewhat
lacked. This sentiment was also backed up by some anaesthetists at my institution which was a little
concerning. Does it really get super routine and boring by 35-40?
