Remember that as an AT3 you are basically a consultant but being paid >50% less than a consultant is. Just call the director or supervisor of training and say what you would like to do there, it's pretty simple. Personally if I were told I had to do six months of, oh, gastroscopies or something I would tell them to go jump. I think most jobs however involve some element of helping out with the general roster even if you are a "cardiac" fellow or whatever.
